Extension to the Meadows Centre

When a new Tesco superstore was being built at the Meadows Centre in Portadown, the developer wanted stone cladding similar to that on a building he had seen in Belfast. Craftstone, who had supplied the cast stone in Belfast, were approached.

A number of samples were produced and the client chose a Bathstone colour with an exposed aggregate finish. As the main contractor was already on site and work well under way, Craftstone had to set in motion a fast-track manufacturing programme. In excess of 2000 stones in 35 different sizes were manufactured and supplied to site over a period of four months.

The reconstituted Bathstone cladding and the large bull-nosed coping along the top of the building beautifully complement the brick and glazed areas.
